How to avoid clogged drains: tips and advice

The first thing you may want to know about drain cleaning , is to avoid significant clogs in your drains. Clogs and blockages are a major cause of major sewer line repairs, and they can be avoided.

For starters, don't throw anything down the drain that your system hasn't designed for. Remember that while toilet paper dissolves in water, other types of paper do not. Wipes, hygiene items, and paper towels cool whole in the sewer or drain system and end up clogging the sewer line.

If you have a child, make sure they don't throw small items like toys, food, or clothes down the drain. Even if something goes into the sewer line, there is a chance that it will get stuck between your home and the last sewer outlet.

In the kitchen, do not pour grease and other food waste down the drain. Only use the garbage disposal for things that can be safely broken down, and run the faucet at the same time you're shredding food. This ensures that it will completely break down anything you place inside before it is flushed. In particular, a serious problem for the pipe is grease, as it includes a liner and we can't stick other items.
