After playing piano at Sunday services, I presented my invoice to the church's bookkeeper, who sends my check every week. Last week, I did not receive a check. 

This happens every once in a while. However, this time I found out that the bookkeeper had a stroke and the church has to find a new bookkeeper.  

Also, the payroll procedure will change and checks will be issued on the 1st and the 15th, instead of weekly. I had a hard time sleeping last night knowing that the money I get for playing at the church provides income for food, while social security takes care of rent, cellphone, gas, etc. 

Thank goodness, gas prices are stable in my area. I have to travel 6 miles each way to get to a store and the gas station.
